ESTIMATOR / SALES

DKP Wood Railings and Stairs, a trusted company specializing in custom staircases and railings on Long Island, is seeking an experienced and motivated Estimator / Salesman to join our growing team.

This role combines project estimating and client-facing sales. The ideal candidate understands stair and railing projects, can accurately estimate costs, and confidently communicates with homeowners, contractors, and designers.

Key Responsibilities:

Meet with clients on-site or in the showroom to evaluate stair and railing projects.
Review drawings, measurements, and site conditions to prepare accurate estimates.
Prepare and present detailed proposals and pricing for stair and railing installations.
Explain project scope, materials, timelines, and costs clearly to clients.
Follow up with leads and prospects to answer questions and close projects.
Coordinate closely with installers, project managers, and production teams.
Manage change orders and pricing updates as project scope evolves.
Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and client communications.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in estimating and/or selling stair, railing, or related construction projects.
Strong understanding of stair and railing systems, materials, and installation processes.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, measurements, and specifications.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with homeowners and contractors.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Compensation:

Competitive base salary plus commission based on closed projects. Compensation structure will be tailored individually based on experience and performance.

Schedule:

Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
